Fun Take On a Classic Fairytale

I love picture books that are just as fun for parents as they are for kids.  In this new take on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs we find humor for both the younger and older generations.

Title: Snow White and the 77 Dwarfs

Author: Davide Cali

Target: Kindergarten - Adult

What this book is about:
As Snow White stumbles away from the evil witch, she happens upon a house with not seven, but seventy seven dwarfs.  Right away she sees this isn’t going to be easy.  Seventy seven names to remember, seventy seven separate bedtime stories and seventy seven lunches to pack, with juice boxes.  Exhausted, she finally decides to take her chance with the witch.  She is now asleep, awaiting her kiss - or is she?

Why I love this book:
This book is just as fun for kids as it is for parents.  I imagine that younger ones will want you to read all 77 names, yes they are in the book, but parent’s will delight in the fact that Snow White gets away from it all for some well deserved rest.

The European inspired illustrations make this a visually interesting story and add sophistication to the book.

Who this book is for:
I think this will lean towards older kids, because younger ones will probably not be able to appreciate the ending.

Final thoughts:
A fun take on a classic fairytale.
