Paul Thurlby's Wildlife for Picture Book Friday

My family had a lot of fun with Paul Thurlby's latest book.  This guy is quite adept with illustrations.  They are cool with a retro vibe, but he doesn't forget to include a little humor as well as fun finds for those who are really looking.  Now how can I resist an artist/author like that?  Really how?

Title:       Paul Thurlby’s Wildlife

Author:   Paul Thurlby

Target:    Kindergarten - Grade 3

What this book is about:
This book is filled with fun animal facts which are added to Thurlby’s signature illustrations.  Did you know that moles can eat half their body weight in one night, giraffes use their 21 inch long tongues to clean their ears and that bears sleep through the winter (without pooping!) for up to six months?  Amazing!

Why I love this book:
If you haven’t had the opportunity to enjoy Thurlby’s illustrations, you are in for a treat.  His alphabet book is cool, hip and retro and this book on wildlife does not disappoint.  I love the fun facts, but it is the pairing with the illustrations which makes this book unique and takes it to a level far beyond a basic fact book.

Who this book is for:
Any young child who likes fun facts

Final thoughts:
Love it!
